About Us
We are a growing and ambitious bus refurbishment company specialising in the complete refurbishment, repair, and repainting of commercial passenger vehicles. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for a skilled Vehicle Body Repair & Paint Technician to join our experienced workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working on large commercial vehicles.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out accident and refurbishment repairs to buses, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out body repairs on buses and coaches, including accident damage and refurbishment work.
- Panel beating, dent removal, straightening and reshaping damaged bodywork.
- Replace and repair aluminium, steel and GRP panels where required.
- Prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, filling, masking and priming.
- Mix and apply primers, basecoats and clear coats using professional spray-painting equipment.
- Colour match finishes to achieve a high-quality OEM standard.
- Polish and finish painted panels to an excellent standard.
- Carry out quality inspections before vehicles leave the workshop.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work closely with workshop management and other technicians to ensure production deadlines are achieved.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in vehicle body repair and paint.
- Strong panel beating and fabrication skills.
- Experience with vehicle preparation and spray painting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on buses, coaches, HGVs or commercial vehicles.
- Experience with aluminium body repairs.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle construction.
- Welding experience (MIG/TIG) would be advantageous but is not essential.
