Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Plant Department Assistant to support the daily operations of our Plant Department. The successful candidate will assist with plant care, customer service, and organisation within the nursery environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, watering, pruning, and maintaining a variety of plants and shrubs
- Support the organisation and merchandising of plants and gardening products
- Provide excellent customer service by answering enquiries in person and via communication channels
- Help with stock organisation, inventory management, and ensuring the nursery remains tidy and inviting
- Support with seasonal displays and promotional activities within the nursery
- Maintain health and safety standards across all areas of the nursery environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
Experience
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or a related field is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
- Multilingual skills, particularly in English and Spanish, are highly desirable to assist diverse customer needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- An interest in merchandising and plant presentation to enhance visual appeal of displays
- Enthusiasm for learning about horticultural practices and plant care techniques
