About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, highly-skilled, multi-skilled and reliable General Builder with experience in building extensions to include structural steel work to join our growing team on a self-employed basis. This role involves working on a variety of projects across locations in Surrey, currently in the Guildford area. Please do not apply if you can’t drive to the job by your own VAN.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building works
- Read and follow technical drawings, layouts, specifications or site instructions
- Work independently or as part of a team and maintain high standards of workmanship
- Operate with a clean and tidy working system
- Ensure all work is completed safely and professionally
- Manage themselves and their day-to-day building tasks including planning, scheduling and coordinating with the project lead and wider team
- Communicate clearly with the project lead and wider team
Essential Requirements
- Experience in building extensions
- Experience with structural steel work
- Experience with groundworks and drainage
- Broader building knowledge to adapt and complete a wide range of renovation projects
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints or schematics
- Ability to work with a variety of modern materials and building techniques and have a strong understanding of current building regulations
- Self-employed status (CIS registered)
- Own van and tools
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to manage workload effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to provide references

- 1st and 2nd fix plumbing

Pay: £200-320 per day
Working hours: 8 hours / day, Monday to Friday
