About the Role
Field & Flower is looking for a Peak Season Operations Assistant to join us on a fixed-term contract from August/September to December, supporting our busiest and most exciting time of year. You'll work as an extra pair of hands alongside our Operations & Supply Chain Coordinator and report directly to our Head of Operations, helping keep things running smoothly across supply chain, customer experience and operations as we ramp up for peak Christmas trading.
This is a hands on role for someone who's happiest getting stuck into the details, solving problems on the fly, and keeping multiple plates spinning during a high pressure, high volume season.
Why Join Us for Peak Season
You'll get a front row seat to how a fast paced, premium food business operates during its most critical trading period. You’ll be working hands on across the full supply chain, and will have the chance to make a real, visible impact in a short space of time.
What You'll Be Doing
Supplier & Procurement Support
- Coordinating with suppliers on order volumes, delivery schedules, and lead times as we scale up for peak demand
- Placing purchase orders
- Monitoring and confirming stock availability, and flagging supply risks early
- Supporting supplier due diligence and compliance checks alongside the wider team
Logistics & Delivery

- Troubleshooting delivery issues and delays, and communicating solutions quickly
- Working with our Customer Experience team to resolve delivery problems, arrange replacement orders, and complete general customer service administration
- Communicating substituted or refunded products to our Customer Experience team
- Troubleshooting ERP system issues, and coordinating their resolution with our IT partners
Inventory & Stock
- Monitoring stock levels against demand and flagging shortfalls or excess
- Monitoring the sales of fixed volume products, communicating with the e-commerce team to ensure website stock is accurate, and products are sold out at the correct time
- Supporting accurate stock counts and reconciliation, and helping to maintain clear, up to date records across systems
- Assisting with intaking product and quality assurance checks
General Operations Support
- Working closely with the Operations & Supply Chain Coordinator, picking up tasks and overflow work
- Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, jumping in wherever the priority is on a given day
- Supporting ad hoc projects and problem-solving as peak season throws up new challenges
What We're Looking For
- Experience in supplier coordination, logistics, or a similar operations/supply chain role. Food, FMCG, or DTC/e-commerce experience is a plus but not essential
- Comfortable working with data and systems (Excel and stock/ERP systems), and happy to learn ours quickly
- A proactive and calm under pressure approach
- Adaptable and comfortable switching between tasks at short notice. Our peak season moves fast and priorities can shift daily, and you must be comfortable with this
- Strong communication skills, confident liaising with suppliers, couriers, and internal teams
- Impeccably organised, with good attention to detail when it comes to orders, records, and deadlines
- Able to work from our office/warehouse in Shepton Mallet for the duration of the contract – this is a 100% on site role
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5:30pm.
During the peak period of 12th December – 5th January, you will work variable shifts which will include weekends or unsociable hours.
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
