Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team, responsible for transforming and maintaining interior and exterior surfaces. This role involves applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various structures, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for colour, precision, and a professional approach to decorating projects. Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paints and finishes.
- Applying paints, varnishes, stains, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision and care.
- Measuring surfaces accurately and calculating the amount of materials required for each project.
- Protecting surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during painting activities.
- Collaborating with clients and team members to understand project requirements and deliver satisfactory results within deadlines.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in excellent condition through regular cleaning and servicing.
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed at all times during work activities.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating roles with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites.
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan work efficiently and manage time effectively.
- Good understanding of colour schemes, textures, and decorative techniques.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks for extended periods and work at heights when necessary. This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about delivering high-quality decorating services while maintaining a professional standard of work across all projects.
