Job Description:
We are offering an exciting opportunity in a family run hotel on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic chef to join our kitchen team at Chef de Partie or Sous Chef level, depending on experience. This is a great opportunity for a confident, motivated chef to take on real responsibility in a busy, professional kitchen, working closely with our Head Chef and wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of a section, or support across multiple sections as required
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard
- Support the Head Chef with menu development, prep planning, and stock control
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, organisation, and food safety throughout the kitchen
- Help train, support, and develop junior members of the kitchen team
- Ensure food storage, labelling, and rotation meets best practice
- Work flexibly across shifts, including evenings and weekends, as part of a supportive team
Requirements:
- Proven experience working at Chef de Partie level or above in a professional kitchen
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management
- A positive, team-first attitude — someone who builds people up, not just standards
- Good communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure
- Genuine enthusiasm for food and continuous improvement
We are a family run business and we recognise family time. A real bonus of working with us is that we close over Christmas. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, sometimes longer, so our staff can guarantee time with their families at the one time of year chefs rarely get it.
