At Take a Break with Choices, we are looking for caring, reliable, and compassionate Support Workers to join our friendly family-run residential care team. We provide person-centred support for adults aged 18+ with a range of needs including Learning Disabilities, Mental Health conditions, Autism, Physical Disabilities, and behaviours that may challenge services.

Overview
As a Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting residents with daily living, promoting independence, encouraging community involvement, and helping individuals achieve their personal goals. This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same, and where you can genuinely make a difference to someone’s quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support tailored to each resident’s individual needs
- Support residents with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, medication support, and maintaining their home environment
- Encourage independence, choice, dignity, and respect at all times
- Support residents to access the community, attend appointments, activities, holidays, and social opportunities
- Build positive and trusting relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Follow care plans, risk assessments, behaviour support strategies, and safeguarding procedures
- Accurately complete daily records, incident reports, and other required documentation
- Support residents during periods of anxiety or distress using positive and calm approaches
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment within the home
- Work flexibly as part of a team including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep shifts where required
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience within care or support work is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
- A caring, patient, and compassionate nature
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Commitment to promoting dignity, independence, and person-centred care
- Willingness to complete mandatory training and ongoing professional development
- Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care are advantageous but not essential
