Overview
We are looking for an Electrical Works Supervisor to lead multiple field teams of electricians and mates on a long-term electrical programme at the Houses of Parliament. Your teams will work across several packages that run from surveying and investigation of the existing electrical systems through to the rectification, remedial and upgrade works that follow. You will plan and direct daily work areas, keep delivery moving across parallel packages, and own the information backbone that holds it together — the master trackers, mark-ups, QA and client-ready submission packs.
This is the early phase of a larger, long-term programme, and as it grows we expect several supervisors of this type — so there is real scope to develop with it. Consistency across teams and shifts is essential given the sensitive and complex nature of the site.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and coordinate several field teams of electricians and mates across parallel packages; allocate work areas, priorities and sequencing
- Oversee delivery of both the survey/investigation work and the rectification, remedial and upgrade works that follow, keeping quality and pace consistent across teams
- Own the master Excel trackers and ensure consistent, accurate data across all teams and packages
- Control PDF mark-ups and revisions; keep records aligned, versioned and traceable
- Validate returns on a regular cycle; reconcile discrepancies between trackers and mark-ups and drive queries to closure
- Consolidate deliverables into client-ready submission packs with clear versioning and filing standards
- Report progress across packages (status, issues, upcoming work areas) and support continuous improvement of templates and checklists
- Uphold and reinforce safety protocols across your teams on site
Requirements
- Parliament Pass — a current pass, or eligible and willing to undergo vetting
- Supervisory experience on site-based or field programmes, managing multiple teams or contributors
- Electrical trade background, with the technical understanding to direct and validate the works (e.g. 18th Edition)
- NVQ Level 3 or ECS Gold Card preferred — strong equivalent trade experience will also be considered
- SSSTS or SMSTS (or willingness to obtain)
- ECS/CSCS card or equivalent
- Asbestos Awareness and Working at Heights certificates
- Strong Excel and document-control skills — master trackers, discrepancy checks, version control
- Confident handling and revising PDF mark-ups, with excellent organisation and a methodical QA approach
- Strong written communication for issue logs, queries and client-ready packs
- Adaptable — able to apply a consistent process across different survey, asset and works types
- Awareness of working in sensitive environments such as live public or heritage buildings
- Specialist systems experience is an advantage — please indicate any specialist areas, as supervisors may be aligned to packages that suit their strengths
