Job Objective:
Taking responsibility for managing and supporting site operatives across all on-site operations to achieve successful contract delivery from the planning of site activities to the execution of jobs on schedule, within cost parameters and to a high quality and safety standard.
Working Conditions:

Combination of office-based (Unit 5 Hurlston Court, Scarisbrick, Ormskirk, Lancashire, L40 8HN) and site-based work

Reports to:
Commercial Manager
Job Duties:
▪
Manages all site resources, employees and sub-contractors in training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations by carrying out “Start-off” meetings and intermediate inspections.
▪
Ensure all site operatives adhere to SUKR policies and procedures.
▪
In conjunction with the Commercial Manager - responsible for designing, implementing and managing the program of works, setting program dates in advance of activity dates and liaising with planning and clients to allocate resources accordingly to ensure the successful completion of contracts on time and to budget.
▪
Support site operatives in resolving day to day problems on-site and anticipates potential barriers/delays to the completion of work to schedule ensuring site operatives are upskilled in order to progress resolution of issues going forward.
▪
Monitors productivity with a view to increasing and resolving any poor performance, inclusive of timekeeping & attendance.
▪
Undertakes site visits to monitor performance, quality, H&S and fleet and feedback accordingly. Implement control measures regarding safety, productivity & quality.
▪
Ongoing collation of photographic library for future reference and potential Marketing use.
▪
Maintaining excellent audit trails on all matters of a commercially sensitive nature.
▪
May be required to assist the H&S Manager with the preparation of Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans or Job Method Statements including risk assessments and COSHH data to identify/quantify risks and mitigation measures for each contract maintaining a high standard of health & safety on site.

Maintaining a high standard of health & safety on site. Observe safety procedures followed by site staff and contractors, issuing instructions as necessary to correct safety violations.
▪
Assist the H&S Manager with any Safety Health and Environmental incident or accident investigations.
▪Monitor progress on-site and review any changes made to the job specification providing Commercial Manager with regular progress reports.
▪
Meet with clients as appropriate to discuss their requirements for quality, the schedule of work, resources and snagging;
▪
Phased and final written quality sign-off on all Contracts with the aim of ‘Zero Snagging’ return visits.
▪
Participate and support training and personal development of site operatives including coaching and mentoring to meet the needs of current and future roles and ensure cross functional skills development and capability.
▪
Assist in carrying out occasional site surveys to price for works / variations and / or information to enable quotations to be sent.

Essential Requirements:
▪
Experience as a Site Manager/Supervisory role with a track record of delivering jobs in the construction/social housing industry.
▪
Thorough understanding of the issues involved in both large and short-term construction projects.
▪
Ability to supervise, motivate and mentor construction operatives’ teams.
▪
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions when working towards tight deadlines whilst not sacrificing the quality of the work.
▪
Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with clients, subcontractors and other professionals involved in various contracts.
▪
Forward thinking with strong organisational skills – be able to anticipate problems before they arrive.
▪
Valid CSCS. Full clean driving license.
▪
PC literate – a good grasp of IT applications and how they can be used in a site management context.
Preferred Requirements:
▪
A background in masonry skills and structural works. An interest in structural repairs, specialist concrete repairs and stone restoration with a good basic knowledge of these subjects.

£45,000 – £50,000 per annum
