Bright Vision Group is seeking an experienced, proactive Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing information security practice in London. In this critical role, you will take ownership of enterprise security operations, threat detection, vulnerability management, and cloud security architecture to protect our digital assets, systems, and client data.
Working closely with Infrastructure, Software Engineering, DevOps, and Compliance teams, you will lead security engineering projects, design zero-trust network controls, respond to security incidents, and embed security best practices across the technology organization. This position balances hands-on technical execution with strategic oversight, offering opportunities to mentor engineers and guide company-wide cybersecurity strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Architecture & Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security controls across cloud (AWS/Azure) and hybrid environments, ensuring robust perimeter and endpoint protection.
- Threat Detection & Incident Response: Lead threat hunting, security monitoring, and incident response operations using SIEM/SOAR platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk) to mitigate security incidents swiftly.
- Vulnerability & Exposure Management: Oversee continuous vulnerability scanning, penetration testing remediations, and risk assessments to proactively harden network and system configurations.
- Identity, Access & Zero Trust: Enforce Zero Trust architectural principles, robust Identity & Access Management (IAM), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Privileged Access Management (PAM) controls.
- Security Automation & CI/CD: Integrate automated security testing tools (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning) directly into modern DevOps delivery pipelines (DevSecOps).
- Governance, Risk & Mentorship: Ensure alignment with UK GDPR, ISO 27001, and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks, conduct root-cause analysis on security events, and mentor mid-level security analysts.
Skills & QualificationsEssential
- 5+ years of commercial experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations (SOC), or cloud security architecture.
- Deep technical understanding of core security concepts: network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF), endpoint protection (EDR/XDR), and identity management.
- Hands-on experience securing cloud environments (AWS or Microsoft Azure) and containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in SIEM/SOAR platforms and threat hunting methodologies.
- Scripting ability in Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate security tasks and incident response workflows.
- Strong understanding of compliance standards and security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, Cyber Essentials, UK GDPR).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with experience communicating risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
- Relevant Professional Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, or AWS Certified Security - Specialty.
- Experience with DevSecOps methodologies and integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of application security standards (OWASP Top 10) and secure code review practices.
- Background in technical leadership or leading incident response teams.
