Time Commitment: 2 or 4 Hours per week (Commitment dependent on role and availability)
Role Requirement: Proficiency in English, Understanding of advanced IT systems (Google Workplace, Microsoft), DBS Check (Dependent on role)
A NTC Adult Volunteer volunteers with young people in a youth organisation to support their training and development. they help cadets with a variety of activities, including:
- Instructing and advising cadets during weekly training sessions
- Motivating and training cadets
- Helping cadets work towards proficiency certificates, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, or B-Tech qualifications
- Supporting cadets at annual camps
- Encouraging cadets to challenge themselves and learn new skills
Adult Volunteers can volunteer in a variety of roles, including Committee Members or activity instructors. They don't need any previous military experience, as training is provided.
Adult volunteers can gain a range of transferable skills, including:
- Management add leadership
- Problem-solving
- Interpersonal skills
- Team-working
- Training and motivational skills
- Self-management
Adult Volunteers can also earn vocational qualifications through organisations like the British Canoe Union, The Royal Yachting Association, The National Rifle Association and Protrainings, our professional qualifications provider.
Adult Volunteers typically commit one or two evenings a week at their local unit, branch or department, occasional weekends, and help on the summer annual camps. However, the amount of time they commit is up to them.
