I am looking for a Male Personal Assistant to support me for 5 hours per week.
I have Autism and ADHD. Due to extremely negative experiences and abuse relating to my Autism and ADHD, this has had a traumatic impact on me and I now find myself highly overwhelmed when going out.
My mother stays by my side, but her health is not good, so time is limited. I
tend to over-react when in certain situations, which mum has said draws undue attention, but I cannot help my reactions.
I really want to have some freedom, to play golf or walk my dog, who is a handful because he is so young but already shows loyalty and love.
I need someone who is easy to get along with and is calm, patient and understanding, who also feels he can cope with me should I have a meltdown.
I do have 'safe places' but sticking to those is not living. And that's what I want. I would like support to out in the community more and enjoy the activities I like doing.
Some of the things I enjoy are:
Golf and going to the driving range
Bowling
Walking my 7 month old dog
Being outdoors and keeping active
I am looking for someone who can support me to access these activities, help me rebuild my confidence socially, and encourage my independence whilst making sure I feel comfortable and supported.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Kind, patient, and understanding
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Have a good sense of humour and easy to talk to
- Calm in different situations
- Ideally able to with own car, and access community activities with me (although I am learning to drive).
- An Enhanced DBS must be in place prior to support starting – the DBS is completed as no cost by my Local Authority

Days and Times required:
5 hours per week - looking at support on a Tuesday (2.50 hours ) and Thursday (2.50 hours)
Exact times to be discussed with successful applicant
Necessary Training:
PA Induction certificate which will form part of the induction into the role
Hourly Rate:
£15.95 per hour

If not already in place you will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check before starting employment.
