We are looking for an Experienced Nursery Manager to join our busy day nursery.

As Nursery Manager at our setting, you won’t just oversee the setting — you’ll be part of it. You’ll model outstanding practice on the floor, guide your team with warmth and clarity, and bring your experience to every corner of the nursery
Level 3 in childcare required as minimum. Must have GSCE level C or above in Mathematics & Previous Leadership experience essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of nursery operations, including staff supervision, curriculum implementation, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Adhere to high quality safeguarding provisions to protect & support the children, families & staff also ensuring all staff knowledge and practise is always up to date
- Foster a warm, safe, and stimulating environment that supports children's developmental needs and promotes their well-being
- Recruit, train, and mentor nursery staff to ensure high-quality childcare delivery
- Supporting staff in their continuous professional development
- Delivering and organising team meetings & training days
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through clear communication, regular updates, and responsive support
- Plan events to promote partnership with parents e.g. parent evenings, family fun days, graduation/ parties
- Oversee daily activities, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies, including risk assessments
- Coordinate with external professional agencies & inspectors during visits, meetings, transitions, inspections.
- Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, invoices, financial reports, resource planning, and scheduling
Skills
- Proven management experience within early childhood education or childcare settings
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
- Extensive experience working with children, understanding their developmental stages and needs
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff, parents, and regulatory bodies
- Excellent understanding of the EYFS, minimum level 2 safeguard trained, paediatric first aid trained, knowledge of health & safety standards, and best practices in nursery management
- Good organisation skills, being able to prioritise, work under pressure & delegate
- Childcare level 3 minimum qualified and GCSE level C or above essential
This post will be based on 37.5 hour - 42.5 hours per week.
