Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Mill Machine Operative Level 1 to join our manufacturing team. The individual will be responsbile for safely and efficiently operating machinery, ensuring that the products are made to a high standard whilst adhering to BRC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all the Company’s Health & Safety rules and guidelines at all times, reporting any ‘Near Miss’ or specific incidents immediately;
- Ensure all the relevant HACCP, quality, specification and GMP procedures are followed at all times, achieving the required standards;
- Report any failures or non-conformances in Health & Safety, HACCP, quality, specification, GMP and maintenance;
- Comply with and assist all employees in HACCP, quality, product specification and GMP procedures;
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene at all times, as specified in the Company’s hygiene procedures;
- Maintain good team work and take personal responsibility for the task you have been assigned;
- Be responsible for the area in which you work by being organised and ‘Cleaning as You Go’;
- Ensure waste is fully segregated in line with company procedures;
- Palletise finished goods using pallet patterns;
- Ensure correct cleaning of equipment and area in line with policies;
- Escalate issues to Team leaders as required in a timely manner;
- Operate hand/electric pump truck safely and efficiently;
- Verification of component codes against specifications;
- Verification of product attributes against packaging specification;
- Ensure all finished goods transferred to warehouse have trace information and relative paperwork completed;
- Safely operate machinery to agreed Standard operating procedures. Must be able to operate all equipment on at least one blender/mill plant as a minimum.;
- Ensure daily operational plans and KPI’s are achieved;
- Fault find and troubleshoot in line with procedures as required;
- Train Operatives as required;
- Follow and adhere to HACCP and LOTO procedures.
- Perform taks on EQMS.
Experience
- Knowledge of the food industry preferred but not essential;
- English language/numeracy skills;
- Previous experience in Mill enviroment preferred but not essential;
- Food & Hygiene Level 2 preferred;
- Health & Safety training.
Working Hours: 06:45 – 14:45, Monday to Friday
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £14.63 per hour
