Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Worker to join our team in Luddendenfoot, near Halifax. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our shop-fitting and maintenance projects, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Organising and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient yard
- Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment
- Delivering and collecting goods between sites, suppliers, and the yard
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion
- Supporting delivery drivers with logistics and routes
- Supporting waste management and recycling procedures
- Following safety protocols and guidelines at all times
- Report any equipment or safety issues to management
- Tracking of inventory, stock, Goods-Inwards, and long-term hire equipment
- Issuing equipment to engineers as required, ensuring they are kept in a good condition
Qualifications
- Valid full driving license (clean preferred)
- Experience in driving and operating vehicles (essential)
- Good communication skills (essential)
- IT competent (essential)
- Physically fit, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team (essential)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (essential)
- Safety-conscious and committed to high standards of work (essential)
- Previous experience in a yard / warehouse (essential)
- Previous experience in a construction environment (preferred)
- Basic mechanical knowledge (preferred)
