Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full Time Kitchen Lead to oversee daily kitchen operations within our busy and family run Cafe. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage a small but busy kitchen to ensure high standards of food preparation, and contribute to the overall success of our establishment. The Kitchen Lead will be responsible for cooking a variety of mainly breakfast based foods along with a selection of sandwiches & soups while maintaining efficient workflows, and upholding exceptional service standards.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of kitchen service, ensuring smooth operations.
- Ensure dishes are prepared to high standards of quality and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen area.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste through efficient utilisation of ingredients.
- Serve as a point of contact for customer feedback related to food quality and service delivery.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant environment.
- Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and food safety standards.
- Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively.
- Extensive kitchen experience including food preparation, cooking, and hospitality service.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and serving procedures is highly desirable.
- Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential.
