Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver/Bike Mechanic to join our team. This role involves delivering bicycles and related equipment while providing maintenance and repair services. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, be comfortable handling hand tools, and be capable of heavy lifting. Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vans to deliver bicycles, parts, and equipment across designated routes
- Conduct routine inspections of bicycles and related gear to identify maintenance needs
- Perform repairs and maintenance on bicycles, including adjustments, replacements, and troubleshooting using hand tools and power tools
- Assist with loading and unloading bicycles and equipment, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
- Maintain accurate delivery records and report any vehicle or equipment issues promptly
- Ensure all deliveries are completed in a timely manner while adhering to safety regulations
- Keep the work area clean and organised, including workshop spaces and delivery vehicles
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in bicycle repair or vehicle maintenance preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
- Experience with power tools for repairs and adjustments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 25kg or more) on a regular basis
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating vans within the UK
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills for liaising with colleagues and customers
