Cross Lane Primary School is looking for a highly-motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated General Kitchen Assistant to join our ambitious team as we expand our commercial catering provision, to other local primary schools. In this role, you will support our Catering Manager and School Leaders by maintaining and enhancing the catering service for pupils, staff and our commercial customers.

- be conscientious and dedicated whilst maintaining the current high standards that our lunchtime experience offers our pupils;
The main objectives of the role:
to assist in the day to day duties in the school kitchen, including food preparation, cleaning of equipment and the kitchen premises;- to assist in the serving of meals and washing up;
- to undergo and follow training and supervision in the use and care of all catering equipment;
- to undergo Food Hygiene training, Allergen training and any other training deemed as a requirement by our Catering Manager;
- to assist with cleaning the school’s catering kitchen;
- to ensure Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times and that defects to equipment and premises are reported appropriately to maintain a safe working environment for all kitchen staff.
- to be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
- to show commitment to equal opportunities and promote non-discriminatory practice in all work aspects.
- to carry out any reasonable duties as requested by the Headteacher and School Business Manager.
