We are recruiting a part-time Technician – Art & Design for our Creative and Digital Art Department based at our Aylesbury Campus. This is a part-time role for 21 hours per week (from Monday to Wednesday), 40 weeks per year.
As a specialist Art Technician within the Creative and Digital Arts Department, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality Art & Design education across a range of creative disciplines. Working closely with our existing technician, teaching staff and wider College teams, you will provide expert technical support, maintain specialist resources and facilities, and help create an inspiring learning environment for students.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- To provide supervision of students in the subject areas required as appropriate, given the resources available and within the agreed and approved current timetable.
- To supervise all commercial activities within the designated area including weekend working as directed by Curriculum Manager
- To control stock and issue materials to students.
- To prepare resources, including art kits for students use in classrooms and vocational areas and equipment are maintained correctly and kept clean.
- To advise course tutors of the need of replacement stock and materials.
- To raise material/equipment requisitions, receive, check and store goods in accordance with College procedures.
- To provide specialist art & design knowledge and skills in one or more areas of Art & Design (eg Painting/Printmaking/Sculpture/3D/Time Based Media) in support of the delivery of specialist art & design pathways covered within the Creative & Digital arts department.
- To support the planning of external enrichment activities including the gathering of transportation quotes and managing the online store payments.
