Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing meaningful and engaging experiences for residents in our care home.
This role is vital in enhancing residents’ quality of life by promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being through a variety of tailored activities. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with older adults, including those who may require memory care and additional support.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and facilitate a range of activities based on the interests and needs of residents.
- Support and encourage residents to participate in both group and one-to-one activities.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote engagement and collect feedback.
- Keep accurate records of participation and feedback to help evaluate the success of activities.
- Work alongside the care team to integrate activities into individual care plans.
- Offer companionship and emotional support during activity sessions.
Experience and Skills
- Previous experience in a care home or similar setting is highly desirable, especially supporting older adults or those with dementia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in enhancing the well-being of residents through engaging, person-centred activities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and also independently.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of residents.
Work Pattern:
- Week 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 10am to 4pm
- Week 2: Friday, Sunday: 10am to 4pm
Pay: £12.71 per hour
