Aragawa London is looking for an ambitious Sous Chef to join our team and work directly alongside our Executive Chef as we continue to develop one of London’s most exclusive Japanese dining experiences.
This is a unique opportunity for a talented chef who is ready to take the next step in their career, developing the skills, confidence, and leadership experience required to progress into a future Head Chef position.
Working closely with our Executive Chef, you will be involved in all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu development, supplier relationships, kitchen management, training, and maintaining the exceptional standards expected at Aragawa.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about quality ingredients, precision, consistency, and continuous improvement. Experience in a fine dining or premium restaurant environment is preferred, but more importantly we are looking for someone with the right attitude, ambition, and desire to grow.
The role will include:
- Supporting the Executive Chef with the daily running of the kitchen
- Leading and developing junior members of the team
- Maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation standards
- Contributing ideas towards seasonal menu development
- Managing preparation, ordering, stock control, and kitchen organisation
- Building the operational skills required to become a successful Head Chef
The ideal candidate:
- Currently working as a Sous Chef or experienced Junior Sous Chef ready for the next challenge
- Has strong technical ability and attention to detail
- Enjoys working with premium ingredients
- Is organised, calm, and professional under pressure
- Wants long-term progression and ownership of their career development
