Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of work: 38 hours per week over 5 days
Shift Pattern: 13:30 till 21:30 Tuesday – Friday and 09:00 till 15:00 on a Saturday
About the Role
We’re looking for a Hygiene Team Leader to lead and work within a team of Hygiene Operatives to ensure factory hygiene standards are consistently achieved and maintained through the use of industrial cleaning methods. Full training will be provided, along with opportunities for development into new roles as business requirements evolve.
Flexibility is essential to meet business needs, including occasional weekend working when production areas are inaccessible during normal operations.
Here is What You Can Expect to be Doing
- Lead, organise, and support the hygiene team during each shift.
- Assist with shift set-up and ensure the shift runs efficiently.
- Train and develop a Deputy Team Leader within a six-month target period.
- Carry out department tasks in accordance with departmental processes (SSW, RAM’s, SOPs, CIC’s. COSHH practises, etc) ensuring factory standards are always met - all training provided.
- Ensure all paperwork and records are completed accurately and on time.
- Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Carry out dynamic risk assessments where required.
- Deliver training and ongoing support to team members.
- Monitor and report daily team performance to ensure productivity targets are achieved.
- Demonstrate flexibility with working hours and promote a job-and-finish culture.
- Ensure the safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Monitor hygiene standards throughout the factory and report any issues to the Deputy Manager.
- Treat colleagues with respect and maintain professionalism at all times.
A Few Things About You
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role, ideally within hygiene, food manufacturing, production, or a similar industrial environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop others.
- Commitment to Health & Safety and food hygiene standards.
- Flexible and reliable with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- First Aid trained (training provided by the company).
- IOSH qualification (training provided by the company).
