HGV Workshop Controller
Elite Workforce Solutions is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Workshop Controller to join a well-established commercial vehicle operation in Bideford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV technician looking to take the next step into a supervisory position while remaining actively involved in workshop operations.
This is a productive role, meaning you will still be expected to work on the tools while overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Controlling and coordinating the daily workflow within the workshop
- Allocating work to technicians and monitoring progress
- Carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
- Maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
- Managing workshop productivity and efficiency
- Supporting and mentoring technicians when required
- Liaising with management regarding workshop performance and vehicle availability
- Ensuring all vehicles are maintained to DVSA and manufacturer standards
Candidate Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in HGV maintenance and repair (essential)
- Previous experience working within an HGV workshop environment
- Experience supervising or leading a team would be advantageous
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive and hands-on approach
Desirable Qualifications
- HGV Class 2 licence (preferred but not essential)
