About The Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Porter to oversee hotel operations during overnight hours at The Salthouse Hotel. This role is essential to ensuring the hotel runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently throughout the night while maintaining the high service standards our guests expect.
As a Night Porter, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and seamless operation of the hotel throughout the night, handling guest requests or concerns, conducting safety and security checks across the property, and preparing reports for the management team. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and be passionate about delivering outstanding guest service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the smooth and safe operation of the hotel during the night shift
- Provide excellent guest service and respond to guest requests, queries, or concerns
- Conduct regular security and safety checks throughout the property
- Ensure front-of-house and back-of-house areas remain clean, organised, and presentable
- Handle guest complaints or incidents professionally and efficiently
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, or operational concerns to the appropriate departments
- Assist with bar service or guest assistance when required during quieter periods
- Prepare and complete overnight reports for the management team
- Ensure all health, safety, and security procedures are followed
Requirements
- Previous hospitality experience
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities during night shifts
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of hotel operations and health & safety procedures
