Your impact
Working closely with the Head of Hydrogeology, you will play a pivotal role in leading the delivery of complex water resources and low-flow investigations that support our clients' regulatory commitments under the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP).
As a key member of our UK Water Catchment Management & Maritime team, you will provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of geological and hydrogeological projects, applying your expertise to some of the most significant environmental and water resource challenges facing the sector today.
Operating within a multidisciplinary project environment, you will act as a trusted technical authority, delivering innovative, evidence-led solutions that inform water resource management strategies, environmental assessments, and sustainable abstraction programmes.

In this highly influential and instrumental role that will define, achieve and exceed WINEP objectives, your remit will include:
Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams comprising Hydrologists, Hydromorphologists, Aquatic Ecologists, Environmental Economists to deliver integrated catchment and water resource solutions.
Facilitate the interpretation of complex hydrogeological datasets and assess groundwater–surface water interactions
Develop robust conceptual site models, design and oversee groundwater monitoring programmes.
Act as a recognised Subject Matter Expert, driving innovation and best practice across the business.
Coordinate the development and delivery of technically robust solutions that address both current and emerging challenges.
Provide specialist expertise in groundwater characterisation, groundwater–surface water interactions, abstraction impact assessments, and water resource investigations.
Foster a culture of support and technical excellence, aiding colleagues' continuous professional and personal development.
Maintain and grow industry networks, strengthening the Jacobs brand and technical/market reputation.
Here's what you'll need
We would be delighted to hear from accomplished hydrogeologists with a demonstrable track record in technical excellence in delivering high-profile water resource and environmental projects, who have a real mix of the following skills, experience and attributes:
Recognised expertise within Hydrogeology, water resources and low-flow assessments, supporting WINEP and wider regulatory obligations.
Comfortable providing technical leadership and quality assurance for complex multidisciplinary projects.
Demonstrable experience in the delivery of complex hydrogeological investigations and technical assessments.
A track record in successfully supporting utility companies with water resource management and environmental compliance programmes.
In-depth knowledge of groundwater models, including - MODFLOW, FEFLOW.
Degree in Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related discipline.
Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience in Hydrogeology.
Chartered status with the Geological Society of London (CGeol) or an equivalent professional institution.
