Overview
Join our team as a Product Research & Online Listings Assistant, where your attention to detail, research skills, and interest in a wide range of products will help us maximise the value of our online stock. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, researching, photographing, and creating accurate online listings for a constantly changing range of items recovered from mixed WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) collections.
You could be working with video games, headphones, consumer electronics, vintage pieces, collectables, accessories, niche products, retro items, and other unusual finds. Each item will require you to identify what it is, research relevant product information and market prices, assess its condition, and create a clear and engaging listing.
This paid position offers an opportunity to develop practical experience in product research, online retail, e-commerce, photography, customer service, and marketplace management within a varied and hands-on working environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research a wide range of products recovered from mixed WEEE collections.
- Research product models, specifications, versions, features, and other relevant information.
- Check current and completed online sales to help determine appropriate and competitive prices.
- Identify items such as video games, consoles, headphones, electronics, vintage pieces, collectables, accessories, and niche products.
- Photograph products clearly and accurately for use in online listings.
- Create and manage accurate online product listings across e-commerce platforms.
- Write clear, informative, and engaging titles and descriptions.
- Select appropriate categories and provide accurate product information.
- Accurately describe the condition, features, and contents of each item.
- Monitor and update active listings where required.
- Respond professionally to customer questions and messages.
- Pack sold items securely and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Maintain organised records of products, stock, photographs, and listings.
- Keep the workspace and stock organised.
- Help identify opportunities to present products effectively and maximise their potential online value.
Requirements
- Strong research skills and confidence using the internet to identify unfamiliar products.
- Excellent attention to detail when identifying products, models, versions, and condition.
- Good written communication skills for creating clear product descriptions.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple items and listings.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for completing tasks accurately.
- Comfortable using computers and online platforms.
- An interest in technology, video games, electronics, vintage items, collectables, or second-hand goods is desirable.
- Previous experience using eBay or another online marketplace is desirable but not essential.
- Basic product photography skills are an advantage.
- A willingness to learn about unfamiliar products and develop product knowledge.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching unusual products, discovering what they are, finding relevant market information, and turning that research into accurate and professional online listings. This is a paid position working with company-owned stock and company online sales accounts. Applicants are not required to purchase stock, invest money, or use their own marketplace account as part of the role.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
