We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Mill Machinist to join our busy team at our Dewsbury branch.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to build a career within the timber industry. No previous woodmill machining experience is required, as full training will be provided. We're looking for an individual with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the commitment to develop new skills within a fast-paced environment.

Trainee Machinist Role Responsibility
- Learn to safely operate a range of woodworking machinery, including Multihead Moulder, Spindle Moulder, Band Saw and Cross Cut Saw
- Be trained to manufacture timber products to customer specifications and quality standards, including measuring, cutting and machining timber accurately and efficiently.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure finished products meet required standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Assist with the handling, storage and movement of timber products.
- Undertake training and development activities as required.
- Liaising with customers as to their timber requirements.
- Assist with general yard operations and work closely and effectively with the whole branch team.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment, adhering to the Company’s health and safety policy and procedure at all times
What are the requirements to become part of our team?
- Full UK manual driving licence
- FLT and/or sideloader licence (desirable)
- A positive attitude and strong willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good practical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible and reliable approach to work.
- Availability to work full time, Monday to Friday inclusive (no Saturdays required)
