Multi-Skilled Bodyshop Technician – Fix Auto Portsmouth
£45,000–£50,000 per annum | Full Time | 42.5 Hours Per Week
Fix Auto Portsmouth is looking for an exceptional Multi-Skilled Bodyshop Technician to join our accident repair centre team. Fix Auto is a leading independent accident repair network, trusted by insurers, manufacturers and drivers across the UK. This is a rare opportunity for a highly experienced technician who has developed competency across the full repair process and is looking for a role that recognises and rewards that breadth of skill.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out strip and fit work on damaged vehicles in line with job card instructions and manufacturer repair methods
- Carrying out structural and non-structural panel repair, including use of body pulling equipment, jigs and welding equipment where required
- Carrying out refinish paint work including paint preparation, colour matching, mixing and application
- Checking parts against the job card during strip and reporting any additional parts or damage to the Workshop Controller
- Completing quality check sheets at each stage of the repair process
- Supporting colleagues across all disciplines to maintain smooth workflow through the bodyshop
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area at all times
What we're looking for:
- Proven, hands-on experience across all three of the following disciplines: strip and fit, panel beating and body repair, vehicle refinishing
- Ability to produce consistently high-quality work across all three areas in a busy workshop environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturer repair methods and BS10125 repair standards
- Ability to interpret repair methods, technical data and bodyshop job cards
- High attention to detail and a commitment to right-first-time repairs
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Your own tool set
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in one or more bodyshop disciplines
- ATA / IMI accreditation in any relevant discipline, or actively working towards it
- Mechanical and electrical repair experience
- EV/HEV component removal and replacement qualification
- Experience working within a BS10125-accredited or insurance-approved repair centre
