About The Demo Squad Ltd
The Demo Squad Ltd is a veteran-led demolition contractor based in Chertsey. We are building a reliable bench of experienced self-employed demolition operatives and labourers for project-based work across Surrey, South West London and surrounding counties.
This is self-employed, project-by-project work rather than a permanent position. There are no guaranteed minimum hours. The scope, site, expected hours and agreed rate will be confirmed before each engagement.
Typical work
- Internal soft strip and refurbishment strip-out
- Garage, outbuilding and other small-structure demolition
- Breaking concrete, masonry and floor finishes
- Site clearance and preparation
- Sorting, loading and segregating waste
- Protecting retained areas and keeping a safe, tidy worksite
- Following site inductions, RAMS and supervisor instructions
Essential requirements
- Demonstrable demolition or relevant construction experience
- A valid role-appropriate CSCS or CCDO card; CCDO is preferred
- Current asbestos-awareness training before any site allocation
- Right to work in the UK
- Able to provide evidence of competence, relevant cards/certificates and work references
- Appropriate insurance for the engagement
- Reliable transport and the ability to travel to sites around Surrey and South West London
- Suitable PPE and a reliable, safety-first approach
- Physically able to undertake demolition work involving dust, noise, manual handling and outdoor conditions
Useful additional qualifications
- CCDO Demolition & Refurbishment Operative, Advanced Demolition Operative or Topman
- CPCS or NPORS plant tickets
- Face-fit, manual-handling or other relevant site training
- Experience with small plant, breakers and demolition power tools
Rate and engagement
- £180–£200 per day, depending on proven experience, tickets and the requirements of the engagement
- Paid under CIS, with deductions applied at the rate confirmed by HMRC
- Future project opportunities will depend on workload, performance and continuing compliance
Before any work is offered, The Demo Squad Ltd will complete right-to-work, competence, insurance, CIS-verification and employment-status checks. CIS registration by itself does not determine whether an engagement is genuinely self-employed.
