About the person we support:
This role involves supporting James, a gentleman who communicates without speech and benefits from a calm, consistent, and person-centred approach. James thrives when those around him are patient, attentive, and able to understand his individual ways of communicating. Building a trusting relationship and recognising non-verbal cues are essential to providing the support he needs.
Experience our Support Workers need:
- Driving with a full UK driving license is mandatory
- Compassionate, patient and understanding.
- Able to communicate confidently with people who use non-verbal methods of communication.
- Calm and reassuring, particularly in situations where someone may feel anxious or overwhelmed.
- Attentive to detail and able to notice subtle changes in behaviour or wellbeing.
- Respectful of routines and able to provide consistent support.
- Comfortable providing personal care.
- Flexible and reliable, with a positive attitude towards working waking nights.
- A strong team player with a genuine passion for supporting people to achieve the best possible quality of life.
- At least 1 year fulltime experience working in Health and Social care in the UK.
