Job Title: Powder Coating Operative

Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Powder Coating Operative to support operations within our powder coating team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation, coating, and finishing of components, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently achieved while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of parts prior to coating, including cleaning, degreasing, masking, and surface preparation
- Powder coating during the coating process
- Load and unload components onto the coating line safely and efficiently
- Hang and remove parts from tracks or jigs in line with production requirements
- Run the powder application processes.
- Ensure correct identification and handling of parts throughout the coating process
- Inspect finished products for quality, identifying defects such as uneven coating, contamination, or damage
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the powder coating area and equipment
- Handle materials, powders, and equipment in line with company procedures
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including correct use of PPE
- Dispose of waste materials in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
- Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of coating equipment and booths
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a powder coating, manufacturing, or similar environment is desirable but not essential
- Basic understanding of powder coating processes and equipment (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
Qualifications:
- GCSEs or equivalent (preferred)
- Relevant vocational training in coating, manufacturing, or engineering (advantageous)
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily carried out in a powder coating and workshop environment
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times
