Following our move to new premises in Rotherham, we are continuing to grow and are looking for reliable drivers to join our expanding team.
The Role
Hallam Express Ltd is looking for a Class 1 Night Driver to join our professional transport team based in Rotherham (S60 1FB).
This role primarily involves trunking palletised freight collected by our day drivers to the Pallet Network SuperHub or customer sites before returning with inbound freight for our delivery area.
Typical shift:
- Collect loaded trailer from our depot
- Travel to SuperHub or customer depot
- Trailer unloaded and reloaded
- Return to Rotherham depot with inbound pallets
Responsibilities
- Operating a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle safely and professionally
- Transporting palletised freight between depots
- Completing vehicle checks and required paperwork
- Complying with Driver Hours and Working Time Directive
- Following company procedures and maintaining communication with the transport office
- Adhering to Health & Safety guidelines
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Good communication skills
- Professional and reliable attitude
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
Pay & Benefits
- £155 per shift
- £5 compliance/attendance bonus per shift
- Paid weekly
- Monday–Friday night work - starting between 6pm and 7pm
- 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) – increasing to 33 days with time in service
