Job Summary
TFTC is seeking a compassionate, engaging Family Time Facilitator to support families in building positive relationships and strengthening family bonds. This paid role offers the opportunity to work closely with children and their families, creating nurturing, calm and child‑centred environments that promote healthy communication and meaningful shared experiences. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organised and passionate about helping families grow and stay connected. Ideally studying Social Work or Childhood Studies.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate family‑focused activities that promote bonding, positive communication and shared enjoyment
- Support families in developing strategies for healthy interactions and constructive conflict resolution
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging sessions tailored to diverse family needs
- Provide guidance, reassurance and encouragement to children, ensuring a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment
- Maintain a warm, supportive atmosphere that encourages participation from all family members
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, review and improve service delivery
- Record observations and feedback to support ongoing development of the programme
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in family support roles is desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with both children and adults
- Organised, reliable and confident in managing multiple activities at once
- Compassionate, patient and committed to fostering positive family relationships
- Able to work independently as well as part of a supportive team
- A recognised qualification or working towards a qualification in child development, social care or family services is advantageous
