Join our growing and friendly team as a Gardening Assistant.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop your horticultural skills, and contribute to garden maintenance projects.
The job will involve -
- planting
- pruning
- weeding
- soft landscape (membrane/bark/stones)
- clearance projects (including digging)
- general regular maintenance
Responsibilities
- Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and other greenery using hand tools and petrol tools.
- Be competent using hand tools such as secateurs, shovels, rakes, hoes and petrol tools to perform routine garden maintenance.
- Support maintenance activities including mowing, weeding and mulching.
- Follow safety protocols while handling gardening equipment and chemicals to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Prior experience or knowledge in gardening or horticulture is highly preferred.
- Ability to work outside in a variety of weathers in all seasons.
- Punctual, reliable and hardworking.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude toward learning new things.
- Basic understanding of garden maintenance.
- Can get to base in Purbook ready to leave at 730am.
The role is for 3-5 days a week (5 during busier months). Self-employed.

We would be looking for 2 references from previous self employment or employment roles. This is a requirement to be considered for the role.
Pay is in line with national minimum wage (according to your age) and is paid as half day or full day depending on what is completed.
Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
