S&P Garages is looking for an experienced and reliable MOT Tester to join our busy workshop in Lincoln.
We are a family-run business and an authorised repairer for Mercedes-Benz Vans and Daimler Truck, as well as a MAXUS sales and aftersales dealership. We are looking for someone who takes pride in completing MOT tests accurately, efficiently and to the required DVSA standards.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester/Technician to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests, diagnosing vehicle issues, and performing necessary repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. Duties
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and manufacturer specifications
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out maintenance tasks
- Assist in vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and services performed
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised at all times
- Assist colleagues with technical support and troubleshooting when necessary
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling parts or equipment
- Excellent attention to detail to identify faults accurately
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Valid driving licence is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is important
