Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to our clients. This role requires a professional with strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication abilities. The Driver will play a vital part in maintaining the smooth operation of our logistics and delivery processes, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-journey inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and timeliness.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when required, including inventory management and stock organisation.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is essential.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to commercial vehicles is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
- Familiarity with flatbed driving and handling heavy or oversized loads is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective coordination with team members and clients.
- A valid <PERSON> driver’s licence is required, along with a clean driving record.
