As a Chef at The Stables Hospitality, you will be responsible for running a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared and presented to a consistently high standard. You will work closely with the wider kitchen team to deliver excellent food, maintain food safety standards, and provide an efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for your designated kitchen section during service.
- Prepare, cook and present dishes to the required quality and presentation standards.
- Follow recipes, portion specifications and presentation guidelines consistently.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.
- Monitor food quality, freshness and storage, reporting any issues to the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
- Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and stock control.
- Minimise food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with Front of House and other kitchen sections.
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional workstation at all times.
- Contribute ideas to improve dishes, menus, kitchen efficiency and the overall guest experience.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen.
- Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Understanding of food hygiene and HACCP principles.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Passion for producing high-quality food.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements.
Desirable:
- Relevant culinary qualification.
- Experience in a busy restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment.
