KH Resourcing are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within the warehouse environment. Your efforts will ensure smooth operations, accurate stock management, and timely shipping and receiving processes. Duties
- Handle materials with care, ensuring safe loading, unloading, and transportation within the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts and other mechanical equipment safely and efficiently to move heavy or bulky items.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels, update stock records, and manage order processing.
- Prepare items for shipment by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately according to specifications.
- Receive incoming shipments by inspecting deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and documenting discrepancies.
- Stock shelves systematically to optimize space utilization and facilitate easy access for picking activities.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards before storage or dispatch.
- Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment activities to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Support general warehouse maintenance tasks to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and mechanical lifting equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control.
- Strong understanding of picking & packing procedures and stock organization.
- Mechanical knowledge useful for troubleshooting equipment or handling minor repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of quality control processes within a warehouse setting.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
