HVAC Operative – Hinkley Point C (x2 Positions)
Hinkley Point C | Day & Night Shifts Available | £29.34–£32.27 per hour + Bonus + Lodge Allowance
Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset
Rate: £29.34–£32.27 per hour (depending on experience) + potential bonus up to £2.93 per hour
Night Shift Allowance: +22% uplift
Shifts: 10 days on / 4 days off | 10‑hour shifts (Overtime paid after 38 hours per week) Lodge Allowance: £50.18 per day / £355.67 per week (where applicable)
We are recruiting two HVAC Operatives to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems on the Hinkley Point C project.
This role is ideal for skilled tradespeople with strong ductwork installation experience and a background in regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, power generation, petrochemical, marine, or heavy engineering.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing ductwork, bracketry, and in‑line HVAC equipment
- Working from engineering drawings and instructions from supervisors/engineers
- Carrying out fit‑up, alignment, and adjustments during installation
- Supporting testing and commissioning activities
- Using fabrication tools, lifting equipment, MEWPs, and heavy plant
- Ensuring work meets quality standards, tolerances, and inspection requirements
- Following RAMS, Permit to Work systems, and site safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Heating & Ventilating
- BOHS P600 or similar testing/ventilation competency (desirable)
- Time‑served HVAC or ductwork installation background
- Experience installing carbon steel and stainless steel ductwork
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and set out works
- Previous experience in nuclear, defence, power generation, petrochemical, marine, or major industrial projects
- CCNSG Safety Passport (or ability to renew)
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work within controlled environments
