Gardening & Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time)

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and practical Gardening & Maintenance Assistant to help maintain private property and grounds on a part-time basis.
This role would ideally suit someone who is semi-retired, retired, or simply looking for a few days of enjoyable work each week. The position offers flexible hours and varied work, with no two days being the same.
The successful candidate will be trustworthy, hardworking, self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Main Duties
Gardening
- Lawn mowing and edging
- Hedge trimming and pruning
- Weeding flower beds and borders
- Planting and general garden upkeep
- Leaf clearing and seasonal garden maintenance
- Keeping outdoor areas tidy and presentable
Property Maintenance
- Basic painting and decorating
- Minor repairs and odd jobs
- Fence, gate and shed maintenance
- Pressure washing patios, paths and driveways
- Gutter clearing and inspection
- General DIY and handyman tasks
General Support
- Driving between locations as required
- Collecting materials, supplies and equipment when needed
- Keeping tools and equipment organised
- Reporting maintenance issues identified during inspections
- Assisting with occasional larger projects
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Own transport preferred
- Practical DIY, maintenance or trade experience
- Basic gardening knowledge
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Good physical fitness for outdoor and manual work
- Honest, reliable and punctual
- Ability to undertake a wide variety of tasks
