EC Logistics is a Vehicle Logistics Company, specialising in Transported and Trade Plate vehicle movements all over the UK and are actively seeking a professional and experienced individual to join our fast-growing 70 strong team of drivers, planners and administrative support members, based at their Head Office in Stourbridge in the Planning and Operations Team.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will manage the daily workload of our drivers, ensuring vehicles and drivers are utilised effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety and transport compliance.
Key Responsibilities.
- Plan and allocate daily work to drivers.
- Manage driver workloads, availability and operational issues.
- Monitor drivers' hours, tachograph and Working Time compliance.
- Oversee vehicle and trailer maintenance, servicing, inspections and defect reporting.
- Ensure trucks and trailers remain safe, roadworthy and operationally available.
- Monitor collections and deliveries throughout the day and resolve delays or problems.
- Liaise professionally with customers, drivers and the wider operations team.
- Maintain accurate planning, compliance and operational records.
- Maximise fleet utilisation and reduce unnecessary mileage and costs.
- Ensure safe loading, securing and transportation of vehicles.
- Support driver performance, training and development.
About You.
You will ideally have experience within transport, logistics, vehicle movements or fleet operations, with a good understanding of tachographs, drivers' hours and transport compliance although not required, a transport managers qualification would be advantageous.
Personal competencies:
- Experience in vehicle logistics role.
- Must be computer literate including MS Office, email, spreadsheets and other platforms.
- Self-managing with good attention to detail.
- Methodical and thorough approach to work.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Highly organised with the ability to remain focused under pressure.
- Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities to meet requirements.
- Ability to adhere to processes.
- Must have a ‘Can Do Attitude’ and a desire to improve.
- Flexible – a “team player”.
You will be organised, confident and comfortable managing a busy operation where priorities can change quickly.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates well and can keep both the drivers and the operation moving. The post holder will be expected to work under the direction of the Operations Manager and support the wider needs of the business where reasonably required.
