Banking Assistant – Gensmile Dental Care Limited

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 50% office based (Tuesday & Wednesdays and alternating Thursdays in the office)

About the role:
We're looking for a Banking Assistant to join our friendly banking team at Gensmile Dental Care.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys structured, process-driven work and wants to develop a long-term career in finance. You'll receive full training and work closely with the Sales Ledger & Banking Manager and one other Finance Assistant in a supportive environment.
The role is focused on the accurate processing and reconciliation of financial transactions across our dental practices. Success in this role comes from being organised, methodical and taking pride in producing accurate work. What you’ll be doing:
As part of our banking team, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day banking and sales ledger activities across 39 dental practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Processing daily banking transactions, including card payments, cash, cheques and bank receipts
· Allocating incoming payments against customer accounts and invoices
· Reconciling multiple bank accounts accurately and efficiently
· Processing and reconciling petty cash submissions from our dental practices
· Processing daily cash sheets
· Reconciling receipts from finance providers and posting associated charges
· Uploading payment files into the banking portal
· Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 200 and Microsoft Excel
· Responding to queries from our dental practices in a professional and timely manner
· Supporting the wider Finance team with additional tasks as required
What we are looking for in a candidate:
Essential
· Good Microsoft Excel skills
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong organisational and time management skills
· A methodical and process-driven approach to work
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
· Willingness to ask questions, learn and continuously develop
Desirable
· Previous experience in a finance, accounts or finance administration role
· Experience using Sage 200 or another accounting system
· Experience of bank reconciliations, sales ledger or payment allocations
· Studying towards, or interested in studying, an AAT qualification
