Part-Time Nanny for NewbornJob Overview
We are looking for a kind, experienced and dependable part-time nanny to join our family from September to help care for our baby son, who will be around two months old.
This role is for three days a week (8.00 am – 3.00 pm) and would suit someone with previous experience caring for newborns or young babies. As a working mother, I work from home and will be in the house, but I am looking for someone who can confidently take the lead in caring for our son throughout the day, allowing me to focus on work while knowing he is safe, happy and well cared for.
We're looking for someone warm, calm and nurturing who genuinely enjoys caring for babies and understands the importance of providing a loving, stimulating and secure environment during these precious early months.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving and responsive care for our newborn throughout the day.
- Follow and support feeding routines, including preparing bottles if required, burping and settling after feeds.
- Change nappies and maintain excellent hygiene standards.
- Help establish healthy sleep routines, including settling and soothing our son for naps.
- Engage in age-appropriate developmental activities such as tummy time, reading, singing and sensory play.
- Comfort and soothe our son when needed, responding sensitively to his cues.
- Sterilise bottles and feeding equipment where appropriate.
- Keep the nursery, changing area and baby's belongings clean, organised and tidy.
- Wash, fold and put away the baby's laundry as required.
- Communicate regularly with me about feeds, naps, nappy changes, milestones and any concerns.
- Maintain a safe environment and always prioritise our son's wellbeing.
Qualifications
- Previous professional experience caring for newborns or young infants is essential.
- A calm, patient and nurturing nature with a genuine love of babies.
- Knowledge of infant development and newborn care.
- Current paediatric first aid certification (or willingness to obtain this before starting).
- Excellent references from previous families.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Confident working independently while maintaining open communication with parents.
- Non-smoker.
