Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in home care settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans while maintaining a high standard of care. A valid driving licence is essential for transporting patients in a medium sized van as needed. Full time and part time roles available.
Shifts available :
Day shifts 9 & 12 hours
Night shifts: Sleep-in and Waking
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility alongside critical clinical procedures
- Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs with focus on the clinical risks
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and any changes in condition.
- Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall quality of life for patients.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Full training and support are provided through the agency.
- Empathetic, physically fit and reliable.
- Over 25 with a clean UK Driving license.
- Strong communication skills in English are required to interact effectively with patient (vital for safe care) and team members.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges within the healthcare environment is essential.
- Comfortable working in a family home ( and around two friendly dogs!)
