Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Deputy Manager to join our vibrant team who can support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring children receive high-quality care, learning and development in a safe, nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Nursery Manager with the overall management of the setting.
- Leading and motivating the nursery team and acting as a positive role model.
- Ensuring the nursery meets Ofsted, safeguarding, health and safety and EYFS requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene across all nursery areas in compliance with regulations
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare
- Monitoring children's development and ensuring accurate observations and assessments are maintained.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes for nursery team members.
- Helping manage rotas, staffing levels, resources and daily routines.
- Deputising for the Nursery Manager when required.
Qualifications
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Extensive experience working directly with children, ideally within early childhood education environments
- Strong understanding of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team with enthusiasm, positivity, and professionalism
- Relevant qualifications in childcare or early childhood education are highly desirable

Pay: £18.00 per hour
