About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and forward‑thinking Deputy Manager to support the overall leadership and daily running of the setting. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help maintain high standards of care, education, safeguarding and compliance, while inspiring your team to deliver exceptional practice.
This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career, confident in leading others, and passionate about creating a warm, professional and values‑driven environment for children and staff.
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5/6 desirable).
- Strong experience within an early years setting, including leading or mentoring staff.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and safer recruitment.
- Confident understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and quality practice.
- Ability to support, motivate and develop a high‑performing team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage operational and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager in leading the setting with professionalism, warmth and ambition.
- Champion safeguarding and help maintain a culture of vigilance, safety and compliance.
- Model outstanding practice and guide staff to deliver high‑quality care and education.
- Assist with daily operations, routines and systems to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and the wider community.
- Uphold and promote the aims, values and expectations of South Hills School Nurseries.

Pay: £29,536.00-£30,472.00 per year
