Contract: 9-Month Fixed Term Maternity Cover

Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts), including alternate weekends
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day operation of our residential care home, ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to staff, oversee care quality and compliance, assist with medication management, audits, training, and regulatory requirements, and act as the Registered Manager in their absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management of the care home and daily operations.
- Lead, supervise, and develop care staff.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and company policies.
- Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and resident documentation.
- Support medication management and auditing processes.
- Conduct staff supervisions, observations, and spot checks.
- Assist with inspections, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote a positive, caring, and resident-focused culture.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a senior care or deputy management role within a residential care setting.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and person-centred care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience with medication management and care planning systems.
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (minimum).
- Willingness to work flexibly and provide management cover when required.
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards).
- Experience supporting CQC inspections and audits.
