Surface Doctor is a respected, family-run surface repair and resurfacing company with over 30 years of industry experience. We provide high-quality cosmetic repairs and refinishing services to residential and commercial clients across the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable, hands-on technician to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in spray painting or practical trade work, or for a motivated individual eager to learn a specialist, in-demand skill.
The Role
As a Surface Repair & Resurfacing Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Spray resurfacing baths, shower trays, sinks, and bathroom fixtures using HVLP systems
- Refinishing surfaces to a high standard, similar to automotive spray painting
- Carrying out cosmetic repairs on materials such as glass, marble, wood, ceramics, UPVC, and stone
- Travelling to customer sites across London and major UK cities
- Delivering excellent workmanship and outstanding customer service
- Representing Surface Doctor professionally at all times
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have experience in spray painting, surface repair, bath resurfacing, or restoration (advantageous but not essential)
- Are confident using tools and enjoy practical, hands-on work
- Have strong attention to detail and good time management
- Are eager to learn and develop specialist trade skills
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
- Own a reliable vehicle suitable for work
- Are flexible and willing to travel
This is a self-employed position.

Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
Preferred (but not essential):
- 1+ year experience in car spraying
- 1+ year experience in hard surface repairs
