We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our passionate team in a nurturing children’s residential home located in Swadlincote. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a background in children's residential care to help shape a supportive and positive environment for young people.
About the Role:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and team to deliver high-quality care and promote positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to children and young people in line with their care plans
- Mentor and lead support staff, ensuring high standards of care are consistently met
- Assist with the planning and delivery of daily routines, activities, and educational support
- Support the emotional well-being and development of each child
- Contribute to the creation of a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures
- Participate in on-call duties and support shifts as required
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is resilient, compassionate, and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Desirable:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or working towards)
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role
