Multi-Skilled Project Engineer
We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Project Engineer to carry out planned maintenance, refurbishment and project works across a range of high-quality commercial properties.
This is a hands-on, skilled role for an experienced tradesperson who is confident working independently and can deliver a high standard of workmanship across multiple disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of projects, solve problems on site and complete works to a professional, first-class finish.
This is not a role for a general labourer or semi-skilled operative. We are looking for a genuinely multi-skilled tradesperson with strong commercial experience and a proven track record of quality workmanship.
The role will predominantly cover the Midlands, with occasional travel further afield.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' proven experience in commercial maintenance, refurbishment or project works.
- Strong, demonstrable multi-trade building skills.
- Ability to work independently from a scope of works and take projects through to completion.
- High level of workmanship with an excellent eye for detail.
- Confident working in professional, live commercial environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues and find practical solutions.
- Reliable, professional and customer-focused.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with clients and site occupants.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Own professional tools essential.

Carpentry & Joinery
- First and second-fix carpentry.
- General joinery and bespoke repairs.
- Skirting, architraves, boxing-in and timber repairs.
- Door repairs, adjustments and installation.
Commercial Doors & Ironmongery
- Commercial door sets.
- Door closers, locks and cylinders.
- Hinges, handles and other ironmongery.
- Door furniture and associated repairs.
- Ability to diagnose and rectify door-related issues.
Ceilings & Partitions
- Suspended ceilings and ceiling grid systems.
- Ceiling tile replacement and repairs.
- Dry lining and partitioning.
- Plasterboard installation.
- Making good and remedial works.
Flooring & Tiling
- Tiling repairs and replacement.
- Ceramic and other wall/floor tile work.
- Flooring repairs and associated preparation.
- Ability to achieve clean, professional finishes.
Painting & Decorating
- Preparation, filling and making good.
- Internal painting and decorating.
- Cutting in and achieving high-quality finishes.
- Repairs to walls, ceilings and painted surfaces.
General Building & Fabric Repairs
- General building repairs and alterations.
- Making good following maintenance or project works.
- Repairs to walls, ceilings, doors and other building fabric.
- Ability to work confidently with different materials and construction methods.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a highly competent, hands-on tradesperson who takes genuine pride in their work.
You should be someone who can arrive on site, understand the requirement, assess what needs to be done, source the correct materials where required, carry out the work to a high standard and leave the area clean and professional.
You must be able to work without constant supervision, use your initiative and deal confidently with unforeseen issues.
The right candidate will have a strong commercial background, extensive practical experience and a broad range of proven trade skills. Quality is extremely important to us, so attention to detail and the ability to produce a neat, professional finish are essential.
